As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing the daily operations of our workshop at Schiphol Airport. You will oversee maintenance and repair activities, manage workshop resources, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
You will lead and support the workshop team while acting as the primary operational contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Operations Netherlands and play a key role in the continued growth and success of our operation.
The position is based at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam
Lead and manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality service, and on-time delivery.
Manage, coach, and develop a team of supervisors and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Drive operational excellence through effective resource planning, cost control, productivity improvement, and process optimization.
Monitor workshop performance through KPIs and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Act as the primary operational contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring excellent service delivery.
Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe and positive working environment.
Contribute to the strategic growth of the business by identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance, customer experience, and service capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
5-8 years of experience in workshop management, operations, maintenance, or technical leadership, preferably within the GSE industry.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with ERP systems and operational workflows.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive change and continuous improvement.
Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
